Our Basic Pistol Class is the perfect entry-level course for anyone looking to learn the fundamentals of handgun safety, handling, and shooting. Whether you’re new to firearms or want to refine your skills, this comprehensive 5-hour course is designed to provide you with the knowledge and hands-on practice needed for responsible firearm ownership.

Course Description

In this class, you’ll cover:

  • Pistol Knowledge & Safe Handling
  • Ammunition Basics & Pistol Fundamentals
  • Firing the First Shots: Includes proper cleaning and storage techniques.
  • Two-Handed & One-Handed Shooting Positions
  • Pistol Sports & Activities: Explore shooting disciplines to enhance your skills.

Students will receive the NRA Basic Shooting Handbook and participate in practical exercises on the firing range to ensure confidence in handling a firearm safely and effectively.

Prerequisites

  • No prior experience is required for this course.
  • Age Requirements: This course is suitable for appropriately supervised mature children.

Course Completion

Upon completing the course, students will:

  • Receive feedback on their live-fire exercises.
  • Earn a certificate of completion.
  • Be awarded a “Basic Practical” rocker upon successfully demonstrating a qualifying shooting group.
  • Complete a short written test to review lesson material.

  • Course Length: 5 hours.
  • Maximum Class Size: 20 students (sign up early to reserve your spot).

Payment Deadline: All payments must be received at least 7 days prior to the scheduled class.

  • Ammunition for 9mm and .22 (students may use their own firearms if preferred)

Important:

  • You must pass the shooting portion of the class to receive your certification.
  • If you don’t pass, you’ll be given a credit to retake the class (no refunds).
